To fully implement the plan the Scoutmaster and Senior Patrol leader really needed to start in late June/July but its OK if you are starting later.

• The Program themes list may need to be updated but are good resources. The patrol survey will definitely need to be customized to your troop. 

 

• For our meeting we would print out the program themes and tape them to the wall, each participant would be given three different colored post its, Green= 1st choice, Blue= Second choice and yellow=Third choice. They would then place the post its on their favorite program themes. The themes that got the most votes were worked into the calendar. 

 

• We found that if you camp regularly you would spend the meeting before the campout planning menus and the meeting afterwards cleaning up and organizing gear. This didn’t leave much time for the monthly program. It might make sense to do each selected program for two months so that you would actually have time to do it well.
